At Mendieta ACS, we believe that everyone deserves a comfortable and healthy home. Especially during BC’s hot summer months. That’s why we are launching our first-ever Comfort Giveaway Campaign. As a way to give back to the incredible community that has welcomed and supported us, we’re donating a complete ductless mini-split installation to a deserving family, senior, or individual in need. This is our way of saying thank you to the community that’s made us feel at home.
How It Works
- Nominate someone in your community who could benefit from a free heat pump system.
- We’ll review nominations and select one recipient for a full installation. Equipment, Labor and Materials included.
- As a Thank You, everyone who nominates a qualifying nominee will receive $500 OFF on any installation service from us.
Who Can Be Nominated?
We’re looking to bring comfort to those in our community who need it most — but the installation must meet feasibility requirements:
- Homeowners of detached homes or townhouses/rowhouses
- Mobile homes may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Condos and townhouses with strata will require written approval. All strata-related admin fees, permits, and engineering plans are the nominee’s responsibility and are not included in the giveaway
FAQs
Can I nominate myself? Yes! Self-nominations are absolutely welcome.
Do Nominees need to be homeowners? Yes. Proof of ownership may be required. Renters are not eligible.
What does the giveaway include? A complete, ductless single-zone mini-split system from Forest Air with standard installation, valued at $6,500. Available models are:
- FA-H09-A20TL/0 (Outdoor) and FA-H09-A20TL/I (Indoor) – 9,000 BTU/h
- FA-H12-D20TL/0 (Outdoor) and FA-H12-D20TL/I (Indoor) – 12,000 BTU/h
If the nominated room requires a larger capacity, we offer the option to upgrade to:
- 18,000 BTU system – Additional cost: $1,000 + GST
- 24,000 BTU system – Additional cost: $2,000 + GST
These upgrade costs will be the responsibility of the winner.
What are the installation limitations? The installation includes a maximum allowable path length of 50 feet for both the refrigerant line set and the electrical wiring, measured along the actual routing path (not straight-line distance). Extra footage will be charged at $30+GST/foot. We will suggest optimal unit placement to minimize additional cost. If a nominee insists on a specific location that increases these distances, the additional cost will be the winner’s responsibility.
Is drywall patching and painting included? No. We will attempt to avoid drywall cutting, but if necessary, we are not responsible for drywall or painting repairs.
When does the winner get announced? We’ll be announcing the winner on May 30th, 2025. Install must occur within 30 days. If installation is not feasible or requirements are unmet, we reserve the right to cancel or select another winner.
Terms & Conditions
- Open to individuals 18 years or older residing in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Surrey, and Langley.
- Nominees must be homeowners. Proof of ownership may be required.
- Installation includes one Forest Air single-zone ductless mini-split (either 9,000 or 12,000 BTU) — model FA-H09-A20TL/0 + FA-H09-A20TL/I or FA-H12-D20TL/0 + FA-H12-D20TL/I — along with labor, materials, permits, line set covers, and aesthetic finish.
- Installation includes up to 50 feet of path length for the refrigerant line set and electrical wiring. Extra distance will be charged at $30+GST per foot and is the responsibility of the winner.
- Placement of the indoor and outdoor unit will be determined by our team based on optimal performance and regulatory compliance. Custom placements requiring extra work or longer routing will incur additional charges.
- The indoor unit will be wall-mounted on an exterior wall. The outdoor unit will be ground-mounted or wall-bracketed. No rooftop installations are included.
- Electrical hookup assumes sufficient panel capacity. If panel upgrades or load-share management devices are required, these will be at the winner’s expense and must be completed prior to install.
- A site assessment will be completed prior to installation to determine feasibility. Mendieta ACS reserves the right to cancel the installation if critical requirements are not met.
- If the nominated room requires greater capacity than a 9,000 or 12,000 BTU unit, the winner may choose to upgrade to an 18,000 BTU unit for $1,000 + GST or a 24,000 BTU unit for $2,000 + GST.
- Drywall cuts will be avoided but may be necessary. Mendieta ACS will not be responsible for drywall or paint repair.
- Condos/townhouses with strata must obtain strata approval. Mendieta ACS will provide basic documentation. A $250 documentation fee applies if mechanical drawings are required. Any structural engineering reports, building permits, or additional requirements are not included and are the responsibility of the nominee.
- Install agreement must be signed prior to work. A media release is part of this agreement. Media consent is required as a condition of the giveaway. If declined, the nomination may be disqualified.
- The winner is solely responsible for any applicable taxes or reporting obligations resulting from receiving this prize.
- Installation must be completed within 30 days of winner selection. Failure to meet requirements, respond to communication, or complete necessary approvals may result in disqualification and a new winner being selected.
- Equipment warranty is 5 years (manufacturer). Labor warranty is 1 year for issues related to installation only. No warranty on misuse or normal wear.
- Winner will be selected based on community need and story impact. Selection is internal and final.
- Employees and family members of Mendieta ACS are not eligible to participate.
- Only the selected winner will be contacted. All other nominators may opt-in to receive promotional offers and $500 rebate for installs.
- Mendieta ACS reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the giveaway at any time.
- All personal information collected through this campaign will be used for administering the giveaway and future promotions by Mendieta ACS. We will not sell or share your information with third parties.
